What is “Quality” in Healthcare and How do we Achieve it?

This is a question pondered upon by many healthcare professionals. This article showcases the 6 domains (safety, timeliness, effectiveness, efficiency, equitability, patient-centeredness) of what “high-quality” healthcare entails. It highlights the tools and models that are currently being leveraged to enhance patient experience and safety.


It also includes an illustration that models how and why patient-centred quality improvement projects are being designed to improve the processes of delivering healthcare. It is great food for thought and can provoke insightful discussions in goal setting and working to establish actionable visions for QI projects.
