Quality Improvement in Healthcare.

"Quality improvement" in healthcare has many definitions. It is commonly understood as the collective thoughts, ideas, and actions of everyone in the healthcare system that lead to better outcomes for patients and the system and enhanced experiences for care providers. For a deeper dive into the subject, check out this editorial or watch this fantastic overview by Dr. Mike Evans from the Design Lab at St. Michael's Hospital.

IHI Open School

The Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) is an independent not-for-profit organization helping lead the improvement of healthcare throughout the world. Founded in 1991 and based in Cambridge, Massachusetts, IHI works to accelerate improvement by building the will for change, cultivating promising concepts for improving patient care, and helping health care systems put those ideas into action. IHI has led a number of well-known campaigns, including the 5 Million Lives Campaign to engage more than 4,000 hospitals over a two-year period in improving healthcare.

The IHI Open School is an online global learning community that helps support teams in providing the best care possible. The IHI Open School has 913 chapters started in 94 countries.
